An 80% eclipse of the moon reached its height for Israel viewers at 12:11am Sunday. The eclipse ended just before 3:00am Sunday morning local time. A lunar eclipse is caused by the shadow of the Earth on the moon's surface. The Nfc website says the next lunar eclipse will be in 2026. (August 17,2008)
