March 29, 2005It finally dawned on me that many of you were missing this feature due to pop-up blockers, paticularly those used with Internet Explorer (what a surprise!!!). Took me a while to catch on to this since I don't use IE. Anyway I've changed it so that "Revelations" now opens in an ordinary window, and from now on will test my new creations with IE as I should have done in the first place Meanwhile my latest quest is for humorous photographs. I have quite a few in my personal archives but have no clue as to their origins, whether or not they're copyrighted, etc. Certainly wouldn't want to hear from the litigation demons (lawyers). Am currently formulating submittal guidelines which I'll post in a day or two. So get your cameras ready and/or your photo albums out!!! March 23, 2005Watched a great show on MTV called Punk'd. MTV? No, I'm not trying to make you country fans and old folks cringe. I'm a classic rock and roller myself. The show plays practical jokes on Superstars and is levels above the old Candid Camera series. The show's staff turn their "prey" every which way but loose. It airs 10:00PM EST Sundays with reruns at various times through the week. March 22, 2005Made a call to Anheiser-Busch to see if I could use a Bud Light Windows Media Viewer ad on the website that someone had sent to me. They said no (hence the link). Anyway, I discovered on the Budweiser website that you could now get a free email account at budweiser.com. Couldn't pass this one up and suggest it to all of you that want to further convince your friends and family that you're the dedicated alcoholic that they always thought you were. March 21, 2005Welcome to Revelations from the Webjockey. For those of you that know me and have been wondering what I've been up to lately, well, you're looking at it. How do you start a website did you ask? Well first you get a pencil and paper (yes, that's right, pencil and paper) and start drawing little boxes with names in them "web page names" and lots of lines and arrows "links". Eventually you wind up with something that looks quite similar to the locker room blackboard during halftime of a big football game (American football that is, have to remember this is the WWW). Then you suddenly realize that you recollect little or nothing from the website design and HTML classes that you took years ago and proceed to buy a current HTML book. This is followed up by numerous "research trips" to the bookstores in order to fill in the gaps that the book that you have does not cover. Also the girl watching is quite good at the bookstores. Meanwhile I won't bore you with further things like "website mechanics" and other brain frying subjects. Be it sufficient to say that I'm having a good time doing this and hope that you enjoy it.
